Concepts
Bee Thing organizes beekeeping monitoring around a few stable business objects.
Organization
The organization is the main workspace. It carries access, sharing, and future billing.
When a user starts, Bee Thing can create a default organization to avoid an empty hierarchy.
Apiary
An apiary is a physical site where colonies are located.
It organizes colonies by location.
Colony
A colony represents one biological unit tracked in Bee Thing.
Business measurements, such as weight, temperature, or humidity, are associated with a colony so the follow-up remains continuous even if hardware changes.
Scale
A scale is field hardware able to send measurements.
Bee Thing follows a BYOH, or bring your own hardware, approach: use your own hardware. Any hardware compatible with ingestion can be used.
A scale can be linked to a current colony. Received data is then associated with that colony.
